Our qualified LOLER examiners offer a full thorough LOLER examination service for arboricultural climbing and rigging equipment from our centre near to Exeter. LOLER tests are available Monday to Saturday. Please contact us to discuss further or to arrange to book your kit in.
What is LOLER?
The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 aim to ensure that lifting equipment is inspected and maintained to ensure that it is safe to use and fit for purpose. Kit must be uniquely identifiable. Thorough tests must be carried out by a competent person.
How often should arboriculture equipment be checked?
Equipment should be checked, inspected and examined by the user before use. Interim recorded inspections should be carried out by the user weekly. Thorough examinations should be carried out by a competent person, primarily
- every 6 months for climbing equipment, including tool strops
- every 12 months for rigging equipment
- following the occurrence of exceptional circumstances (such as overloading or an incident).
Examination prices
Climbing kit
- Initial inspection: £65 plus VAT (up to 20 items)
- Subsequent inspections: £55 plus VAT (up to 20 items)
- Additional items charged at £55 plus VAT per hour, chargeable in 15-minute increments
Rigging kit
- Initial inspection: £65 plus VAT (up to 20 items)
- Subsequent inspections: £55 plus VAT (up to 20 items)
- Additional items charged at £55 plus VAT per hour, chargeable in 15-minute increments
Please note
To conduct tests, we will require either the previous LOLER certificate or a receipt of purchase for each item. Please ensure all are cleaned as per manufacturer’s instructions and that the bag is free from debris when bringing your kit to us.
Please only include items to be examined in your bag (no spikes, chainsaw parts, gloves, etc.); please take all equipment apart and undo knots, etc.
